Containments of Pakistan

Image
No Cantonments in Pakistan are permanent military bases of the Pakistan Army, administered by Cantonment Boards under the Military Lands & Cantonments Department (ML&C), Ministry of Defence, Government of Pakistan. Established under the Cantonments Act 1924, they have evolved from primarily "garrison" areas to include civilian populations and private businesses. Cantonments are divided into three classes based on civil population strength: Class I Cantonments, with a civil population of 100,000 or more; Class II Cantonments, with a civil population of 50,000 or more but less than 100,000; and Class III Cantonments, with a civil population of less than 50,000. As of 2013, there are 56 cantonments in Pakistan.  The director general of Military Lands and Cantonments oversees all cantonments boards, which are audited annually by the Government of Pakistan's Audit Department. Since 2000, local government elections have not been held in cantonments, a decision challenge

My Village khanewal(14/8-R Gull Abad)

My home town 14/8-R Gull Abad is situated in Khanewal.  Khanewal District is a district in the Multan Region and Province of Punjab, created in 1985 by merging two tehsils from Multan District, Kabirwala and Mian Channu. Its capital is Khanewal and has the second largest railway station in the country. The district borders Jhang and Toba Tek Singh in the North, Sahiwal in the East, Vehari in the South, and Multan in the West. The climate is hot and dry, with the hottest months being May, June, and July. The district is located along the Ravi River and is home to cotton, wheat, rice, maize, and sugarcane crops. British rulers ruled Khanewal until Pakistan's independence. The area was a well-planned town with a Hindu and Sikh population who migrated to India after partition. Missionary Sufi Saints led to a dominant Muslim population. Khanewal was declared a district in 1985, with the city as its capital. Khanewal, a region in Pakistan, was inhabited by Daha and Khatters, who used K

HEATWAVE 2024

Image
On May 21 and 22, 2004, temperatures in central Pakistan reached 47 degrees Celsius, causing six deaths and dozens more illnesses. The extreme air temperatures were reflected in land temperatures, which are often higher than air temperatures due to land retention. The MODIS image shows the land around the Indus River reaching 67 degrees Celsius. The temperature gradient in the Himalaya Mountains might correlate with elevation, with the pattern more distinct in the high-resolution image showing a larger region to the north, including Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India, and China at 500 meters per pixel. The image is available in additional resolutions, including MODIS' maximum resolution of 250 meters per pixel. Pakistan's southern province of Sindh experienced its highest temperature of the summer, reaching 52 degrees Celsius (125.6 degrees Fahrenheit), close to the country's record high. The heatwave is attributed to human-driven climate change, according to a te

PAKISTAN STOCK EXCHANGE

Image
A stock exchange is a platform where stockbrokers and traders can buy and sell securities like stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments. It also facilitates the issue and redemption of these securities and capital events like income and dividend payments. Securities traded on a stock exchange include listed companies' stock, unit trusts, derivatives, pooled investment products, and bonds. Stock exchanges often function as "continuous auction" markets, with transactions conducted via open outcry at a central location or via an electronic trading platform. To trade a security on a stock exchange, the security must be listed there. Modern markets use electronic communication networks for increased speed and reduced transaction costs. Trade on an exchange is restricted to members' brokers. However, electronic communication networks, alternative trading systems, and "dark pools" have taken much of the trading activity away from traditional stock exchanges
